Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 May Launch In June, Powered By In-House Exynos 2400 Chipset

Samsung is gearing up for the highly anticipated release of its next-generation foldable smartphones, namely the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, slated for launch later this year.

Samsung is gearing up for the highly anticipated release of its next-generation foldable smartphones, namely the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, slated for launch this year, according to a report from The Elec, a Korean publication. The report cited sources that indicate that the mass production of components for these cutting-edge foldables is scheduled to kick off in early May, marking a significant advancement of 2–3 weeks compared to the previous year's timeline.

This move is speculated to be part of Samsung's strategic plan to leverage the momentum garnered by the successful debut of the Galaxy S24 series, aiming to introduce its remaining flagship offerings for the year 2024 to the market.

According to tipster Revegnus, who runs the handle @Tech_Reve, shared on X (formerly Twitter) the possibility of Samsung outfitting the Galaxy Z Flip 6 with an in-house Exynos 2400 processor. Earlier in the year, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S24 and S24+ featuring the same chip for international markets, excluding North America and China, while the Galaxy S24 Ultra boasted Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, globally.

Considering Samsung's recent trend of using its Exynos processor in the more affordable Galaxy S24 models, the rumoured inclusion of the Exynos 2400 in the Galaxy Z Flip 6 seems plausible. Notably, the Exynos 2400 demonstrated competitive performance against Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 earlier this year, signaling Samsung's strides in chip development.

In addition, The Elec report suggests at the potential launch of an entry-level foldable phone model, purportedly named the "Fold FE," with speculation suggesting it may debut alongside the release of the Apple iPhone 16 series, which happens in fall.

The standard model of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is said to be slimmer compared to its predecessor. Additionally, the entry-level variant is striving for further thinness and cost reduction by excluding stylus support. Samsung Electronics is said to be focusing on showcasing its expertise in manufacturing slim foldable smartphones with both the standard and entry-level editions of the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Furthermore, the report notes that the specifications and component partners for the upcoming Galaxy S25 series, slated for an early release next year, are anticipated to be finalised in May.
