Samsung Galaxy S24 Series' Instant Slow-Mo Feature To Trickle Down To These Older Devices

Samsung Galaxy's S24 feature will be brought to these devices — Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 series introduces a feature known as Instant Slow-Mo, utilising AI to transform a regular video into a slow-motion clip, eliminating the necessity to record in the native Slow-Mo mode. A Samsung Community moderator has disclosed that Instant Slow-Mo will extend to Samsung's older devices. Samsung plans to bring this Instant Slow-Mo feature to eight devices in the lineup. The basic condition is that the devices that are equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or newer chips will receive Instant Slow-Mo as it necessitates a robust GPU and NPU to react in 16.6ms for 60FPS videos.

The feature will be brought to these devices — Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra.

The new Samsung video editor, supporting the addition of Instant Slow-Mo effects during video editing, will also be available on the mentioned devices. Furthermore, the moderator announced Samsung's plans to enhance Instant Slow-Mo by introducing support for 10-bit videos, 480p videos, and the .mov file format.

While the moderator did not specify a timeframe for the Instant Slow-Mo rollout on older devices, it is anticipated to coincide with the One UI 6.1 update for these phones and tablets.

Samsung Smartphone Users To Soon Be Able To Record VoWifi Calls

Samsung is set to make the lives of Galaxy users even more easier now. Earlier Samsung users other than Galaxy S24 owners were not able to record voice calls in VoWiFi (Voice over WiFi) mode. Unlike Google Dialer, Samsung's approach does not announce call recording, allowing automatic recording when enabled.

So far, the feature is limited to the Galaxy S24 series, running on OneUI 6.1 based on Android 14 OS, and the same is expected to expand to older models soon.

Call recording in VoWiFi mode is accessible on Galaxy smartphones using the latest dialer app (version 15.1.66 or newer), covering VoLTE (4G) and VoNR (5G) calls as well.
