Samsung Galaxy S22 Series Getting Hefty Update With April Security Patch
Samsung's latest flagship Galaxy S22 line (Snapdragon variants) is now getting a major update that bumps the security patch to April 1.
New Delhi: Samsung's latest flagship Galaxy S22 line (Snapdragon variants) is now getting a major update that bumps the security patch to April 1. This comes a week after Samsung started rolling out the April 2022 security update for the Galaxy S22 series Exynos variants. The update is a mighty one at 1.5GB and it is rolling out for Snapdragon Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra users across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
Samsung's newest update for the flagship Galaxy S22 series comes with firmware version S90xEXXU1AVC. The firmware update for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra is rolling out countries such as India, Egypt, Malaysia, Morocco, Nepal, Iraq, Kenya, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the Philippines, the UAE, Tunisia, Turkey and Vietnam, according to a report by SamMobile.
The update will be rolled out to eligible Samsung Galaxy S22 series automatically and users who do not get it automatically can manually check for the update. They can download the OTA update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. It is always recommended that users should be connected to a strong Wi-Fi network and put their devices on charging while they update.
Meanwhile, last year's Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra are also getting a new firmware update with the April 2022 security patch. The latest update with firmware number G99xxXXS4CVCG is now available for the Galaxy S21 5G trio in Germany (SM-G99xB), the media has reported.
The price of the Samsung Galaxy S22 in India starts at Rs 72,999 for the 8GB/128GB variant, the price of the Galaxy S22+ starts at Rs 84,999 for the base variant and the price of the Galaxy S22 Ultra for the 12GB/256GB variant starts at Rs 109,999. The highlight of the lineup this time is the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra which combines the best features of the Note and S series.
