Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Is Here: Know Specs, Prices And More

Samsung has unveiled the next iteration in its Fan Edition (FE) series - the Galaxy S21 FE after a series of leaks and rumours.

New Delhi: Samsung has unveiled the next iteration in its Fan Edition (FE) series - the Galaxy S21 FE after a series of leaks and rumours. The Galaxy S21 FE is essentially a watered-down flagship that has been launched globally. It is likely that the South Korean tech giant launches the Galaxy S21 FE in India that will compete with the upcoming OnePlus 9RT that is set to be unveiled in the country on January 14.

The Galaxy S21 FE is available at a starting price of $699 ( roughly Rs 52,031) in three storage variants: 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB, and 8GB/256GB.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G follows the legacy of the flagship Galaxy S21 range. Samsung has launched the handset in four new colour options -- Olive, Lavender, White and Graphite -- all of which include a stylish haze finish. The S21 FE 5G sports a sleek 7.9mm-thick body. The phone also packs an in-display (optical) fingerprint sensor, similar to what we have seen in the previous-gen Galaxy S20 FE.

Starting January 11, the Galaxy S21 FE 5G will be available through Samsung.com, carriers and retailers online and availability of the device will vary by market, according to Samsung.

“At Samsung, we are focused on bringing the latest mobile innovations to even more people,” TM Roh, President and Head of Samsung Electronics’ MX (Mobile eXperience) Business, said in a statement.

“We saw an incredible response to Galaxy S20 FE and Galaxy S21 lineup. So we applied the same approach with S21 FE 5G, equipping it with the premium features that matter most to our loyal Galaxy fans — because we’re focused on delivering a smartphone that meets their most important needs," Roh added.

Galaxy S21 FE 5G specifications and features

In terms of display, the Galaxy S21 FE has 6.4-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate in gaming mode. There is also Eye Comfort Shield with AI-based blue light control. Camera specs include 12MP ultra-wide camera with an aperture of F2.2, 12MP wide camera with Dual Pixel AF, OIS, an aperture of F1.8, 8MP telephoto camera with 30x Space Zoom and an aperture of F2.4. For selfies, there's a 32MP front camera with F2.2 aperture.

Depending on the region, the processor could be the top-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 or Samsung's proprietary Exynos 2100.

In terms of storage, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G has up to 256GB of internal memory. Connectivity options are 5G, 4G LTE, GPS/ A-GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and a USB Type-C port. Sensors include gyro, magnetometer, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, and a proximity sensor.
