Samsung Galaxy Ring To Not Be Compatible With Your iPhone: Report

Samsung's Vice President, Hon Pak, recently revealed that the upcoming Galaxy Ring won't be compatible with iPhones.

During a recent roundtable discussion at MWC, Samsung's Vice President, Hon Pak, made a noteworthy declaration stating that the upcoming Galaxy Ring will not be compatible with iPhones. This firm stance reflects Samsung's strategic positioning in the mobile market. Pak, in addressing the Android/iOS compatibility challenge, expressed Samsung's confidence in the Galaxy Ring and underscored the comparable standing of Samsung devices with those of Apple.

He articulated compelling reasons for consumers to consider transitioning to Samsung's ecosystem. Furthermore, Pak revealed Samsung's ongoing efforts to integrate with other Android devices, extending beyond the scope of Samsung phones.

The Galaxy Ring is set to be available in various sizes, featuring smaller variants with a 14 mAh battery and larger models equipped with a 21.5 mAh unit. These specifications are expected to deliver an impressive battery life spanning between 5 to 9 days.

While the precise release date for the Galaxy Ring remains undisclosed, speculations point to its unveiling alongside the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 at the Unpacked event scheduled for July.

Samsung Galaxy Ring Specifications & Features

Highlighted among its distinctive features, Samsung introduces the 'My Vitality Score,' a metric that utilises data from sleep tracking, activity levels, and heart rate variability to assess overall fitness and activity levels. Furthermore, the Galaxy Ring will debut the 'Booster Card,' presenting actionable advice through a smartphone app to enhance fitness routines throughout the day and night.

Emphasising its compact design, the Galaxy Ring aims to provide a compelling alternative to bulky smartwatches, addressing concerns such as discomfort caused by sweat accumulation in tropical climates and potential health issues associated with wearing watches tightly for extended periods.

Slated for an official release alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 in July, Samsung's Galaxy Ring holds the potential to be a groundbreaking addition to the wearable technology landscape.
