MWC 2024: Samsung Debuts Galaxy Ring. Will Be Able To Track Sleep, Activity, Heart Rate, More

Samsung Galaxy Ring launch is slated to take place in July alongside Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Samsung's Galaxy Ring has now made its debut at the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, giving enthusiasts an exclusive glimpse into the South Korean tech giant's newest innovation. The sleek and glossy Galaxy Ring, showcased at the event, offers a novel approach to everyday wellness, promising users enhanced insights and understanding of their health around the clock. Available in nine sizes, ranging from 5 to 13, Samsung ensures a comfortable fit for fingers of all sizes.

According to Dr Hon Pak, Vice President and Head of Digital Health Team, MX Business at Samsung Electronics, the Galaxy Ring integrates advanced sensors to monitor various health metrics, including sleep patterns derived from heart rate, movement, and respiratory indicators.

Among its standout features, Samsung introduces the 'My Vitality Score,' a metric utilising data from sleep tracking, activity levels, and heart rate variability to gauge overall fitness and activity levels. Additionally, the Galaxy Ring will introduce the 'Booster Card,' providing actionable advice through a smartphone app to enhance fitness routines throughout the day and night.

With its compact design, the Galaxy Ring aims to offer a viable alternative to bulky smartwatches, addressing concerns such as discomfort caused by sweat accumulation in tropical climates and potential health issues associated with wearing watches tightly for extended periods.

Scheduled for an official release alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 in July, Samsung's Galaxy Ring holds promise as a revolutionary addition to the realm of wearable technology.
