Redmi Pad 5 Android Tablet May Launch In India Soon, May Be Priced Under Rs 25,000

Days after handset maker Xiaomi launched its Xiaomi Pad 5 in India after a gap of seven years, its sub-brand Redmi is now likely to unveil its Redmi Pad 5 in the country.

New Delhi: Days after handset maker Xiaomi launched its Xiaomi Pad 5 in India after a gap of seven years, its sub-brand Redmi is now likely to unveil its Redmi Pad 5 in the country at an "affordable" price point. Early leaks and rumours suggest that the Redmi Pad 5 will be a cheaper version of Xiaomi Pad 5 and yet be feature-rich. It may be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC, 5G connectivity and feature a screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz.

According to leakster Mukul Sharma, the Redmi Pad 5 will be officially unveiled in India soon. The pricing and features of the "aggressively priced" Android tablet from Redmi have been revealed by a publication named IT Home and according to that, the tablet is likely to be priced below Rs 25,000 in the country. The Redmi Pad 5 may also run MIUI PadOS 13 and support 30W fast charging technology.

The rumours about the Redmi Pad 5 come barely a week after Xiaomi Pad 5 was officially launched in India with a stylus and a smart keyboard and thus, many are deeming this as an alternative to the iPad. The Xiaomi Pad 5 comes with a high refresh rate display and a quad-speaker system with Dolby Atmos support. The starting price of the tablet is Rs 26,999 for the 128GB storage variant.

The Android tablet is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 chipset and comes in a configuration of 6GB RAM and 256GB of memory. The Mi Pad 5 has a 10.9-inch WQHD+ resolution display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. In terms of imaging, the tablet features a 13MP rear sensor and for selfies, an 8MP sensor on the front.
