Realme 9i To Be Officially Launched In India On January 18: Expected Price, Features And More

New Delhi: The first budget smartphone launch of 2022 is going to be the Realme 9i as the handset maker on Thursday announced its India launch date. The budget Realme 9i would be officially unveiled in India on January 18 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset and support for 33W fast charging. According to the smartphone player, Realme 9i will be the first smartphone in the segment to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680, 6nm processor.

The Realme 9i would be a successor to the Realme 8i and that's why we can expect it to be unveiled at a slightly higher price tag than the Realme 8i. According to previous leaks and rumours, the device could launch for Rs 14,499 in multiple storage variants.

A tweet by Realme India, also confirmed the Realme 9i's launch in the country. "The Ultimate Performer with First 680 6nm Processor in the Segment, #realme9i has much more to offer! We’re super excited for the launch at 12:30 PM on 18th January. Drop a 😍 in the replies if you are too! #NextLevelPower," Realme India tweeted on Thursday.

Talking about the launch time of the device, the smartphone is slated to be officially unveiled on January 18 at 12:30pm IST at a virtual launch event that can be live-streamed on the handset maker's social media, Facebook and YouTube handles. Realme has also set up a dedicated webpage on Realme.com where the Realme 9i launch in India has been teased.

Expected specs of Realme 9i

The Indian variant of the upcoming Realme 9i could be quite similar to the device that was earlier launched in Vietnam. The Realme 9i arrives with on Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0 out of the box.

In terms of display, there is a 6.6-inch full-HD+ (2,400x1,080 pixels) IPS LCD screen with 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 480 nits. The device packs in 6GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt memory. The memory can be expanded up to 1TB via a microSD card.
