Pegatron And Tech Mahindra Sign MoU At MWC To Make AI-Enabled Private 5G Networks

As per the company's statement, the collaboration will utilise a specialised private 5G product lineup branded under Pegatron's 5G business unit.

At Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona, Tech Mahindra and Pegatron, one of the leading global technology and electronics manufacturer, announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration will focus on co-developing AI-powered 5G solutions tailored for international enterprises.

"Our robust market presence, close ties with telcos, communication partners, and extensive expertise in global 5G4E rollout will successfully provide IT and network services to Pegatron,” Harshvendra Soin, President – Asia Pacific and Japan Business, Tech Mahindra, said in a statement.

As per the company's statement, the collaboration will utilise a specialised private 5G product lineup branded under Pegatron's 5G business unit. This offering will be complemented by Tech Mahindra's established proficiency in extensive 5G overhauls. Together, they aim to deliver comprehensive 5G for Enterprise (5G4E) solutions tailored for global enterprises and manufacturing clients.

“We are honoured to collaborate with Tech Mahindra, which will unlock opportunities for enterprises across the globe to experience this strong 5G product portfolio to create resilient and efficient network solutions around AI-led use cases that will help optimise their investments,” said Dr Shue, Chief Technology Officer, Pegatron.

Furthermore, the company stated that the collaboration will empower both organisations to collaboratively identify global opportunities. Pegatron will furnish the 5G connectivity framework, while Tech Mahindra will deliver comprehensive end-to-end 5G services.

Notably, Pegatron is a key manufacturer of Apple iPhones in India. The Taiwanese electronics manufacturing company already has a facility in Chennai. The Pegatron factory in Tamil Nadu is said to employ more than 7,000 employees. 

Established in January 2008, Pegatron leverages extensive high-end consumer and commercial communications product development expertise with a vertically integrated manufacturing approach to provide end-to-end 5G network solutions.
