Oppo Reno 7 Series India Launch On February 4: Features, Specs And Everything You Should Know

Oppo is set to officially unveil its Reno 7 series in India that comprises the Oppo Reno 7 Pro and the vanilla Oppo Reno 7 on February 4.

New Delhi: Handset maker Oppo is set to officially unveil its Reno 7 series in India that comprises the Oppo Reno 7 Pro and the vanilla Oppo Reno 7 on February 4. However, the Reno 7 SE is not going to be announced in India, as of now. The Reno 7 Pro and the Reno both feature what the company calls a "glow" design. According to Oppo, the handsets also sport industry-first aircraft-grade LDI design technology. It should be noted that the Oppo Reno 7 Pro features a 50MP main camera, similar to what we have seen in the OnePlus 9RT.

Oppo "glow" design is where the glass back cover of the phone features a matte texture and a shiny appearance. This also makes the smartphone resistant to fingerprint and stains. "The newer LDI technology, which till now has been used to design PCBs in the aviation industry, has been repurposed to etch fine textures -- as small as 20 microns in size -- onto the photoresist-coated AG glass back cover of the Reno 7 series. Each device’s back features a total of 1.2 million micro-etchings that create the illusion of thousands of stars -- complete with long tails of light. These micron-scale etchings give the phones a matte in-hand feel and brushed finish," the company said in a statement on Monday ahead of the series' launch in India.

The pricier of the lot, the Reno 7 Pro sports a lightweight and durable aluminum middle frame with a flat-edge design that is intended to make it easier to hold and operate. The handset also features a 2.5D, 6.55-inch OLED screen that adopts the narrowest bezel packaging process in the history of Reno devices launched so far, with the left and right black edges of the screen 0.2mm narrower. The Reno7 Pro is 11.5 per cent thinner than last-gen Reno with a 92.8 per cent screen-to-body ratio.

Earlier last week, Oppo had revealed camera details of its upcoming Oppo Reno 7 Pro smartphone and mentioned that the device will feature the world's first Sony IMX709 sensor. The Oppo Reno 7 Pro is likely to be priced between Rs 41,000-Rs 43,000 in the country. According to the handset maker, the IMX709 which is exclusive to Oppo, is a customised RGBW front image sensor that can capture crisper and evenly-exposed photos and videos.
