OnePlus May Launch Its First Android Tablet In India Soon. What We Know So Far

The OnePlus Pad Android tab may be unveiled alongside the OnePlus 11R in India and it is codenamed "Aries".

Handset maker OnePlus may be working towards launching an Android tablet in India soon as OnePlus Pad is currently being privately tested in the country. Some reports say that the OnePlus Pad may be unveiled alongside the OnePlus 11R in India and it is codenamed "Aries". With the launch of the purported OnePlus Pad, OnePlus will join the likes of smartphone makers Oppo, Xiaomi and Redmi that already offer Android tablets in various price segments.

The upcoming OnePlus Tablet, aka the OnePlus Pad, could hit the Indian market very soon as it is being tested internally for the local market, says a report by MySmartPrice. The first Android tablet by OnePlus may be called the OnePlus Tab. The maiden OnePlus Android tablet may debut in the country alongside the OnePlus 11R sometime in June this year, the report added.

The report also mentioned that the upcoming OnePlus tablet could be launched in the budget price segment and may draw inspiration from one of the Oppo tablets, albeit with a few changes.

To recall, the Oppo Pad Air was launched in India in July last year at a starting price of Rs 16,999 for the base 4GB+64GB storage variant. The Android tablet was also launched in a 4GB RAM+128GB storage model priced at Rs 19,999. It was unveiled in a single grey colour variant.

The Oppo Pad Air was launched with Android 12-based ColorOS 12.1 for Pad on top and features a 10.36-inch display with 60Hz refresh rate. The display has a pixel density of 225ppi and a brightness of up to 360 nits. The tab is powered by an octa-core 6nm Snapdragon 680 chipset, coupled with Adreno 610 GPU and up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM.

The Oppo Pad Air also came with a 7,100mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. The battery is said to offer up to 15 hours of video calling time on a single charge. The tab has quad speakers that are supported by Dolby Atmos for a surround sound experience. The tablet weighs 440 grams.
