OnePlus' Next Smartphone May Come With Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Chipset, Launch At The End Of The Year

The next flagship device from OnePlus may come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip.

Handset maker OnePlus may be working on another flagship phone that could be launched at the end of 2022, the media has reported. The next flagship from OnePlus could make use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and it is likely to be a performance-focused flagship smartphone.

According to a report by Android Authority that quoted a post by Weibo leakster Digital Chat Station, the next flagship device from OnePlus may come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. As per Digital Chat Station's post, the new phone from OnePlus might be focused only on performance.

Qualcomm is likely to make announcement about its upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset at its Snapdragon Summit that is slated to be held in November.

Meanwhile, the upcoming OnePlus device that could come with the upcoming Snapdragon processor is likely to be named the OnePlus 11 Pro. This is because the handset maker did not announce a vanilla OnePlus 10 to its launches this year.

To recall, the last OnePlus phone to launch was the OnePlus 10T which was unveiled globally, including in India. The OnePlus 10T is the newest device in the OnePlus 10-series of flagship smartphones and it is said to be the most powerful OnePlus smartphone yet. The OnePlus 10T 5G is powered by top-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and comes with 16GB of RAM, which is a first for a OnePlus device.

As expected, the smartphone was made available in two colour variants: Jade Green and Moonstone Black. The OnePlus 10T comes with "OnePlus’ burdenless design" and features a unibody build. There's a 6.7-inch display with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is also HDR10+ certified and has native support for 10-bit colour. 

The price of the OnePlus 10T starts at Rs 49,999 for the 8GB+128GB storage model. There are two more storage models which are priced at Rs 54,999 for 12GB+256GB storage and Rs 55,999 for 16GB+256GB model. The OnePlus 10T 5G will go on sale in India starting today (August 3) on OnePlus.in, OnePlus Store App, Amazon.in, OnePlus Exclusive Stores and the company's partner outlets. The availability of 16GB RAM model will become available at a later date.
