Handset maker OnePlus on Friday announced expanding its collaboration with JioMart Digital, thus, broadening the availability of OnePlus products in more than 2000 retail stores across India. With this move, OnePlus products will get expanded availability for consumers through JioMart Digital's distribution network of more than 63,000 retail stores.

With this association, OnePlus aims to expand its presence in tier 3 and 4 cities and towns and beyond, while also intending to penetrate deeper into the country. The partnership will also provide an opportunity for the larger consumer base to gain first-hand experience of the OnePlus devices and let retailers offer its handsets.

“We at OnePlus have continued to have a long-standing successful retail partnership with the JioMart Digital team. Driven by similar values of delivering the best possible experience to our consumers,  this partnership has been instrumental in our journey of expanding our retail presence across India, enriching the lives of our users and strengthening our brand's connection with them. And we remain committed to continuing this journey together, further strengthening our association with our retail partners thanks to JioMart Digital’s rapidly expanding retail network," Ranjeet Singh, Director of Sales at OnePlus India, said in a media statement.

"As we continue to extend our range of OnePlus products across the Jio Mart Digital store network, we are positive that our community and consumers at large will continue to truly benefit from this opportunity by being able to easily access and gain a personalised experience of our OnePlus devices at their nearest retail outlets," Singh added.

This comes weeks after unresolved issues were flagged by retailers, prompting them to consider a drastic step - refusing to sell the OnePlus Nord CE4 in the southern part of the country. The South India Organised Retailers Association (ORA) threatened to halt the sale of all OnePlus products from May 1 onwards, reports said last month.

The development also raises questions about the nature of the unresolved issues and their potential impact on OnePlus consumers and their experiences.

The concerned retailers' association, ORA expressed their deep disappointment at the current impasse and urged a swift resolution.

"Despite our persistent efforts to address these concerns with your company, little progress or resolution has been achieved. Promises made have not been fulfilled, leaving us with no recourse but to take this drastic measure," a spokesperson for the retailers' body was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
