What we know about the upcoming OnePlus 11 series so far?

The OnePlus 11R is likely to debut around the same time as the OnePlus 11, according to leaks and rumours. The OnePlus 11R is likely to launch with a curved screen and mark the retirn of the company's iconic alert slider, which was missing in the OnePlus 10T 5G (read our review here). The iconic alert slider, which makes it easier to toggle between ring and silent modes has been only adopted by Apple iPhones and OnePlus. However, OnePlus also did away with the alert slider in the OnePlus 10T 5G, which upset a section of its fans. Earlier in August, the handset maker said it is planning to bring back its alert slider in future smartphones and the OnePlus 11R might be that device.

The flagship OnePlus 11, on the other hand, is likely to be come with a 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz, a punch-hole cutout for housing the selfie camera as well as HDR10+ support.

Top-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor may power the device, paired with Adreno GPU, up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage, which would not be expandable. Previously, a tipster said that the OnePlus 11 and Oppo Find N2 will share camera specs and come with Hasselblad camera optimisations, something that the OnePlus 10T missed. The tipster also said that the Oppo Find N2 will support Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), but it is not clear whether the OnePlus 11 will also come with OIS, a report by publication PlayfulDroid said.

Other expected specs of the OnePlus 11 include an in-display fingerprint sensor and Dolby Atmos, 5G support, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS and USB Type-C port for charging. The OnePlus 11 would go against the likes of flagship smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S23 series, which is expected to be unveiled in the first half of 2023.

To recall, the last OnePlus phone to launch was the OnePlus 10T which was unveiled globally, including in India. The OnePlus 10T is the newest device in the OnePlus 10-series of flagship smartphones and it is said to be the most powerful OnePlus smartphone yet. The OnePlus 10T 5G is powered by top-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and comes with 16GB of RAM, which is a first for a OnePlus device.
