Goregaon Resident Brings 1984 Macintosh Classic To Get Tim Cook's Autograph. This Was Apple CEO's Reaction

After inaugurating India’s first Apple Store in Mumbai, CEO Tim Cook was left totally surprised when a customer brought his more than 33-year-old Macintosh Classic machine and presented it to him.

After inaugurating India’s first Apple Store at Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), CEO Tim Cook was left totally surprised when a customer brought his more than 33-year-old Macintosh Classic machine and presented it to him during the event on Tuesday. "The energy, creativity, and passion in Mumbai is incredible! We are so excited to open Apple BKC — our first store in India," Cook, who is on his first visit to India in seven years, posted Twitter.

Many Apple fans and people were seen wearing Steve Jobs' style T-shirts at the Apple Store's inauguration. However, what left Cook pleasantly surprised at the event was a fan named Sajid who had brought the old machine that was launched back in 1984. He said he has been an Apple user since that year. He told the media he has been using several Apple products. You can watch Cook's reaction in the video embedded below.

Sajid also added that no other product gives him that kind of joy and that it is a great pleasure for him to work on Apple products, says a report by Business Today.

Sajid was quoted as saying: "I am very happy and proud that Apple is opening a store here finally. It is a big moment for Apple users in India and we can look forward to coming to this store and exploring all the latest Apple products, " the Business Today report added.

Cook will open Apple's second store on Thursday in New Delhi, Saket.

This comes at a time when India's iPhone exports jumped almost four times to cross $5 billion or more than Rs 40,000 crore in FY 2023, in the wake of increased local production of Apple iPhone models, says a recent report by ET Telecom. India has become a smartphone export hub for countries including Germany, Russia, the UK, France, Italy, the Middle East and Japan.

Experts suggest that Apple iPhone became the first brand to cross the $5 billion export mark from India, thus, highlighting the speed at which the Cupertino, California-based tech giant is ramping up its production in the country. Apple also locally assembles the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus in India.
