Samsung has officially launched its 2024 lineup of Odyssey OLED gaming monitors, Smart Monitors and ViewFinity monitors in India. These new monitors are said to deliver next-level experiences with advanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. The Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 and the enhanced Smart Monitor line claim to offer great entertainment experience while the AI-powered Smart Monitor M8 and ViewFinity line promise to enhance connectivity.
Price, Availability And Offers
Samsung Odyssey OLED G6's starting price has been set at Rs 92,399. The Smart Monitor series starts at Rs 15,399 while the Viewfinity range of monitors starts at Rs 21,449. These monitors will retail on the Samsung e-store. Prospective buyers can purchase these monitors from Samsung's official online platform, Samsung Shop, as well as e-commerce platforms Amazon India, Flipkart and other leading retail outlets.
Starting June 5-June 11, buyers can get no-cost EMI options and an instant cart discount of up to Rs 2,750 when purchasing the Odyssey OLED G6 and Smart Monitor series from the Samsung e-store. Those opting for the Samsung Smart Monitor M8 will get Samsung Sound Bar for free and those buying the OLED G6 will get a free pair of Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro.
E-commerce sites Amazon and Flipkart are offering discount worth Rs 11,100 on these models.
Samsung Odyssey OLED Series Specs And Features
The Samsung Odyssey OLED G6, a 27-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution monitor, features a 16:9 aspect ratio, 360Hz refresh rate and an ultra-fast 0.03ms GtG response time, perfect for gamers. This new model introduces Samsung OLED Safeguard+, a burn-in protection technology that employs a pulsating heat pipe to prevent burn-in.
The Dynamic Cooling System enhances heat dissipation by evaporating and condensing a coolant, offering five times more effective heat management than traditional graphite sheets, Samsung claimed. The monitor also detects static images, like logos and taskbars, automatically dimming their brightness to prevent burn-in.
The Odyssey OLED G6 is said to deliver exceptional OLED picture quality with a typical brightness of 250 nits. FreeSync Premium Pro ensures the GPU and display panel are perfectly synchronised, eliminating choppiness, screen lag and tearing. Samsung’s OLED Glare Free technology maintains colour accuracy and reduces reflections while preserving image sharpness, even in bright daylight.
The monitor features a super slim metal design, enhanced by Core Lighting+ which synchronises ambient lighting with on-screen content for an immersive experience.
Samsung ViewFinity Series Specs And Features
Tailored for creators and professionals, the ViewFinity lineup comprises the ViewFinity S8 (S80UD and S80D models), ViewFinity S7 (S70D model), and ViewFinity S6 (S60UD and S60D models). The 2024 ViewFinity monitors incorporate a minimum of 10 per cent recycled plastic and eschewing chemical sprays on plastic components. Additionally, the packaging adopts glue instead of staples for effortless disassembly, as per the brand.
Featuring an Easy Setup Stand that clicks together with one swift motion -- no tools or screws required -- the ViewFinity monitors offer quick and hassle-free setup, allowing users to promptly immerse themselves in the vibrant display. Each monitor supports HDR10 and boasts the ability to display 1 billion colours. Moreover, they integrate TÜV-Rheinland-certified Intelligent Eye Care features to reduce eyestrain.
The ViewFinity S8 gets 27-inch and 32-inch screen variants, both offering 4K UHD resolution (3840 x 2160), a 60Hz refresh rate, and a brightness of 350 nits. Equipped with a USB hub and a height-adjustable stand, the S80UD model introduces a new KVM switch for effortless connection and switching between two input devices. The ViewFinity S7 is available in 27-inch and 32-inch configurations, boasting UHD 4K resolution (3840 x 2160), a brightness of 350 nits and a 60Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, the ViewFinity S6 comes in 24-inch, 27-inch, and 32-inch variants, each offering QHD resolution (2560 x 1440), a 100Hz refresh rate, and a brightness of 350 nits. Both models include a USB hub and height-adjustable stand, with the S60UD model featuring a built-in KVM switch and a USB-C port with support for up to 90W charging.
Samsung Smart Monitor M8 Specs And Features
The revamped Smart Monitor lineup brings a comprehensive multi-device experience into a single hub, offering smarter entertainment and enhanced productivity. The 2024 updates include the M8 (M80D model), M7 (M70D model), and M5 (M50D model). The upgraded 32-inch 4K UHD Smart Monitor M8 introduces features powered by AI, leveraging the NQM AI processor to elevate entertainment experiences.
AI upscaling enhances lower resolution content to nearly 4K, while Active Voice Amplifier Pro uses AI to analyse background noise and optimise dialogue in user content. The inclusion of 360 Audio Mode on the M8, coupled with Galaxy Buds, is said to create an immersive sound environment. Additionally, the built-in SlimFit Camera facilitates seamless video calls through mobile applications via Samsung Dex.
The M7 is available in 32-inch and 43-inch variants, with 4K UHD resolution (3840 x 2160), a brightness of 300 nits, and a 4ms gray-to-gray (GtG) response time. On the other hand, the M5 comes in 27-inch and 32-inch sizes, featuring FHD resolution (1920 x 1080), a brightness of 250 nits, and a 4ms GtG response time.
