Microsoft Xbox Starts Rolling Out AI-Powered Chatbot For Select Users In US — Check Details Here

The Senior Product Manager Lead, Xbox, said, “We appreciate feedback from Xbox Insiders on this preview experience, and any feedback received will be used to improve the Support Virtual Agent,"

Microsoft has been trialling its AI-powered Xbox chatbot for several months, and now the feature is rolling out to select users. Known as the Support Virtual Agent, this AI tool aims to assist Xbox gamers by providing faster and more efficient support for gameplay and console-related issues. According to Microsoft, the chatbot can swiftly pull information from Xbox support pages to help users find answers to questions about their Xbox consoles and game support.

Reports indicate that Xbox Insiders in the US can access the AI chatbot via support.xbox.com, which will help address a range of support queries related to Xbox games and consoles.

The Senior Product Manager Lead at Xbox, Megha Dudani, said, “We appreciate feedback from Xbox Insiders on this preview experience, and any feedback received will be used to improve the Support Virtual Agent," as reported by The Verge.

The Xbox AI chatbot is displayed as an animated AI character or a vibrant Xbox orb when it responds to users. This feature is part of Microsoft's broader strategy to incorporate AI into the Xbox ecosystem. The company is anticipated to roll out additional AI-driven features for the Xbox platform in the near future.

Xbox AI-Powered Support Virtual Agent: How To Use

  • Go to the support page and click on Contact Us.
  • Sign in with the registered account.
  • Click on ‘Ask our new Support Virtual Agent’
  • A new browser window where you can get answers to your queries.

According to Microsoft, users can interact with the virtual agent through text or voice, and it will provide relevant information to assist with their queries. If the virtual agent is unable to resolve the issue, users have the option to request assistance from a live support agent, provided it is within Xbox Support's regular operating hours.

There are reports suggesting that Microsoft has indicated Xbox Insiders will have the option to switch between two different versions of the Support Virtual Agent. However, the company has not clarified the specific differences between these two AI agents. The feature is currently available to Xbox Insiders in the U.S., with a broader rollout expected at a later date.
