Microsoft Unveils New Sky Cipher Special Edition Xbox Controller At $69.99, Here's How It Looks

Microsoft recently revealed a Deadpool version Xbox controller and now the company has revealed yet another controller but this one rekindles the memories of the golden Xbox era. The new Sky Cipher Special Edition is available to preorder now at the Microsoft store at a price of $69.99 Rs 5,860). The date for the release of the Sky Cipher Special Edition Xbox controller is set for August 13. Senior Marketing Manager, Xbox Accessories, Daniel Ruiz, on Xbox Wire, said that this controller features a transparent blue design “complemented by metallic features and silver interior parts that shine through from inside, exuding an aura of sophistication and futuristic appeal.”
Microsoft's video promoting this new controller kicks off with the OG Xbox bootup animation. It might be possible that after this revival of the OG style, Microsoft would be planning to release a transparent console next.

The official blurb for the Sky Cipher Special Edition read, "Elevate your experience and style with the Sky Cipher controller. Stay elegantly on target with Sky Blue metallic triggers and a matching D-pad surrounded by a dark blue accent. Refine your game with two-tone thumbsticks featuring Sky Blue bases and dark blue tops. Hold on to the action with rubberized, Sky Blue grips on the back case. Looking closely at the hand grips, you can see the rumble pack vibrate and react to your gameplay."
New Packaging
In addition to unveiling this controller, it was announced that the Sky Cipher features a new packaging design for Xbox controllers, highlighting a commitment to reducing carbon footprints.
The packaging eliminates single-use plastics and replaces the traditional paper manual with a QR code for a digital quick start guide. Furthermore, the packaging size has been reduced by 22 per cent and the weight by 21 per cent, compared to the previous dimensions of 177mm x 175.4mm x 72mm and 152.3g. The Sky Cipher is the first Xbox controller to be shipped in this new, eco-friendly packaging.
