iQOO 13 Vs iQOO 12: How Does The New Flagship Stack Up Against Its Predecessor? Let's Find Out

iQOO 13 vs iQOO 12: iQOO 13 comes with a better battery, a slightly better telephoto camera, and a significantly better SoC. But is it worth the upgrade? Read on to find out.

iQOO 13 vs iQOO 12: iQOO 13, the latest flagship smartphone from Vivo’s sub-brand, has been unveiled in China, boasting cutting-edge features and premium hardware. Positioned as the successor to last year’s iQOO 12, it’s among the first devices powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. With an India launch set for today, let’s explore how the iQOO 13 stacks up against its predecessor across various key aspects.

iQOO 13 vs iQOO 12: Pricing

In China, the iQOO 13 starts at CNY 3,999 (approximately Rs 47,200) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. This price point undercuts the iQOO 12’s India launch price of Rs 52,999 for the same configuration.

However, the Indian pricing for the iQOO 13 may align closer to its predecessor.

iQOO 13 vs iQOO 12: Design

While retaining much of the iQOO 12’s design language, the iQOO 13 introduces new colour options, including Black, Green, Silver, and White, compared to its predecessor’s Black, Red, and White variants.

The iQOO 13 is slightly taller and heavier and boasts an upgraded IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance rating, a significant leap from the iQOO 12’s IP64 certification.

iQOO 13 vs iQOO 12: Display

The iQOO 13 features a slightly larger 6.82-inch QHD+ LTPO AMOLED display with a higher resolution (1440×3168 pixels) compared to the iQOO 12’s 6.78-inch FHD+ panel (1260×2800 pixels).

Both displays offer a buttery-smooth 144Hz refresh rate, but the iQOO 13 promises sharper visuals with its improved pixel density.

iQOO 13 vs iQOO 12: Performance

Equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, the iQOO 13 delivers a performance boost over the iQOO 12, which runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

Qualcomm claims a 45 per cent improvement in processing power with the new chipset, making the iQOO 13 a powerhouse for demanding applications and gaming.

iQOO 13 vs iQOO 12: Cameras

The iQOO 13 and iQOO 12 both feature a 50MP primary sensor and a 50MP ultrawide lens, capable of recording 8K videos at 30fps. However, the iQOO 13 trades the iQOO 12’s 64MP telephoto lens for a 50MP telephoto sensor with 2x zoom.

On the front, the iQOO 13 upgrades to a 32MP selfie camera, offering sharper and more detailed selfies compared to the iQOO 12’s 16MP front shooter.

iQOO 13 vs iQOO 12: Battery and Charging

The iQOO 13 packs a larger 6,150mAh battery, a notable jump from the iQOO 12’s 5,000mAh capacity. Both devices support 120W fast charging, but the larger battery in the iQOO 13 may slightly extend charging times.

iQOO 13 vs iQOO 12: Software

Running Android 15 with Origin OS, the iQOO 13 outpaces the iQOO 12, which ships with Android 14 and Funtouch OS. Both models guarantee three major OS updates and four years of security patches, with the iQOO 13 extending software support until Android 18.

iQOO 13 vs iQOO 12: Which One Suits You Best?

The iQOO 13 brings noteworthy improvements in display resolution, processor performance, and software updates, while retaining similar fast-charging speeds and design elements.

With an upgraded battery, enhanced durability, and improved front camera, it stands as a compelling upgrade for tech enthusiasts awaiting its arrival in India.
