iPhone 16 Leak: Powerful A18 Chipset May Be Used For All Models
A fresh leak says that the entire Apple iPhone 16 lineup will be equipped with the cutting-edge Bionic A18 processor, unlike other years.
The highly-anticipated iPhone 16 series is expected in September, in line with Apple's traditional launch schedule. According to fresh iPhone 16 leaks, the tech giant may use the powerful A18 chipset across all iPhone 16 models. Last year's non-Pro models, the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus came with a less powerful Bionic A16 chipset as compared to the Pro models.
A fresh leak says that the entire iPhone 16 lineup will be equipped with the cutting-edge Bionic A18 processor, unlike other years. This move marks a significant upgrade for the iPhone 16 series, promising enhanced performance and efficiency across the board. This latest leak suggests that Apple is intending to deliver a uniform, high-performance experience across its next-generation smartphone range.

Apple Focussing On AI Integration
Notably, Apple, following the trend of many smartphone manufacturers, is concentrating on integrating AI into its devices through its Apple Intelligence service. However, Apple differentiates itself by running most AI features directly on the device, making it necessary to include a robust chipset. Due to the absence of a high-performance chipset, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will not receive the Apple Intelligence updates this year. However, all models in the upcoming iPhone 16 lineup are said to be equipped with the same processor, ensuring seamless on-device AI functionality.
There might be a distinction within the chipset lineup of the iPhone 16 series. Some reports suggest that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus (or possibly iPhone 16 Slim) will come with the A18 chip, while the pricier iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be equipped with the more powerful Bionic A18 Pro chip.
Although this information is speculative at this point, it would benefit consumers if all iPhone 16 models featured the latest chipset.
Meanwhile, as per leakster Ice Universe, the iPhone 16 Pro models are likely to come with the slimmest bezels ever, by beating the record of iPhone 15 Pro and devices from competitors like Samsung. The upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are also expected to see an increase in size. In fact, the Pro model is expected to go from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches, and the Pro Max model might be the biggest iPhone, measuring 6.9 inches, which is an increase from 6.7 inches.
