iPhone 15 Pro Overheating Fix: iOS 17.0.3 Available Now. Here's How To Update

iPhone 15 overheating issues marred Apple's new flagship lineup ever since its launch.

Ever since its launch, Apple's latest iPhone 15 Pro lineup has been plagued with issues of overheating. Several users flagged the issue on social media, suggesting that it was perhaps the Pro models' new titanium body, or even the new USB-C ports that have been causing the handsets to heat up without warning. The Cupertino tech giant issued a clarification that the problem was primarily software related, and will be fixed via an update soon. Well, Apple has finally released the said update. iOS 17.0.3 was released by Apple on Wednesday, aimed at resolving the concern causing excessive heat in the iPhone 15 series.

According to the update's change log, this release focuses on essential bug fixes, security enhancements, and specifically addresses the overheating problem reported in iPhone 15 Pro devices. The issue with excessive heat pertains to the iPhone's operating system, iOS, and app developers are also swiftly rolling out updates to rectify related concerns within their applications.

Apple clarified that the heating problem was not linked to the advanced titanium and aluminium frame design featured in the higher-tier Pro models. Additionally, the issue was unrelated to the USB-C charging port, a new addition to the latest iPhone models, keeping in line with new EU rules.

Apple's official website mentions that iPhone handsets may experience a rise in temperature during various scenarios, such as during restoration from a backup, wireless charging, usage of graphics-intensive applications or games, and high-definition video streaming. Apple assures users that the iPhones remain safe for use unless an explicit temperature warning is displayed.

How To Update To iOS 17.0.3

Users can easily download the update by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update, selecting Install Now or Download & Install (depending on availability), and following the on-screen instructions. Additionally, some simple measures to cool down the phone have been provided.
