Apple on Tuesday launched the 10-generation iPad with an all-screen design featuring a large 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display and a USB Type-C port for charging instead of a lightning port. The new Apple iPad is powered by the A14 Bionic chip, which promises to deliver faster performance with better power efficiency for demanding tasks while still providing all-day battery life.

“We’re so excited to bring the completely redesigned iPad to our most advanced iPad lineup ever,” Greg Joswiak, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, said in a statement.

“With a large 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display, powerful A14 Bionic chip, a first-ever landscape front camera, fast wireless connectivity, USB-C, and support for incredible accessories like the new Magic Keyboard Folio, the new iPad delivers more value, more versatility — and is simply more fun.”

Apple iPad 10th-gen prices and availability

The new iPad has been launched in four colourways: Blue, Yellow, Pink and Silver and it comes in two variants, as ever: a WiFi version and a cellular variant. The WiFi variant of the new iPad is priced at Rs 44,900 while the cellular variant costs Rs 59,900. The new iPad is available to order starting today (October 18), with availability in stores beginning Wednesday (October 26).

The new iPad comes with an all-screen design with a 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display that extends to the edges, in nearly the same size as the previous generation. The new Liquid Retina display provides a beautiful visual experience with a 2360x1640-pixel resolution, nearly 4 million pixels, 500 nits of brightness and Apple's True Tone tech. This time, Apple has moved the Touch ID to the top button of the iPad, thus, making it seamless to unlock, log in to apps or use Apple Pay.

The new iPad comes with updated cameras that include an ultrawide 12MP front camera located along the landscape edge of the device and an updated 12MP back camera to capture sharp photos and 4K video. There's a USB-C port that supports a wide range of accessories, and support for WiFi 6 which should result in faster connections.

Designed specifically for the new iPad, the new Magic Keyboard Folio features an incredible typing experience, a click-anywhere trackpad and a versatile two-piece design. With iPadOS 16 and support for Apple Pencil (1st-generation), the iPad now offers users more ways to be creative and productive.
