A video by Google provides a glimpse of the Pixel 9 Pro and introduces a new model, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which is launching in India.

The Pixel smartphone line from Google is notorious for its pre-release information leaks, and the upcoming Pixel 9 series appears to be following this trend. Numerous details about the design and technical specifications of these new flagship devices have already been revealed. In an unexpected move, Google seems to have decided to get ahead of the rumour mill by releasing an official teaser video on YouTube. This video provides a glimpse of the Pixel 9 Pro and introduces a new model, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

The tech giant is set to showcase more details about the flagship Pixel 9 series and other upcoming products at an event scheduled for August 13 at its California headquarters. The new teaser confirms some of the previously leaked design changes.

Most notably, Google has apparently abandoned the full-width camera bar seen on the Pixel 8 in favour of a more compact, pill-shaped camera module for the Pixel 9 series. This shift in design language marks a significant departure from recent Pixel aesthetics.

By taking control of the narrative with this official preview, Google appears to be attempting to mitigate the impact of unauthorised leaks and speculation surrounding its upcoming devices.

Google has officially acknowledged the existence of its new smartphone through a promotional video, which is slated for release on August 13. While the video is light on specific details, it does showcase the device in use, confirming a significant design element that has been the subject of much speculation regarding the Pixel 9 Pro. The footage verifies the presence of an exceptionally large camera module on the device. This prominent feature is likely to be noticeable when the phone is carried in pockets, potentially creating visible bulges in clothing.

Recent information from regulatory documents and unofficial sources suggests that Google is preparing to introduce a quartet of new smartphone models in the near future. The lineup is expected to include the standard Pixel 9, the Pixel 9 Pro, an expanded Pixel 9 Pro XL variant, and a foldable device dubbed the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Notably, this year, Google will unveil its Pixel lineup earlier than the traditional launch cycle.
