Google Pixel 8 series, comprising the much-anticipated Pixel 8 Pro and the Pixel 8, is set to be launched today (October 4) at the company's global launch event "Made by Google", after a series of rumours and leaks. The devices will be unveiled at the global event in New York at 7:30 pm IST. Google is said to be bringing the Pixel 8 line with the Google Pixel Watch 2 in India. Pre-orders of the devices, for prospective buyers in the country will begin tomorrow.

The tech giant will be unveiling its new hardware in an in-person audience, but one can catch the livestream via the company's social media handles, Google’s website, and via YouTube channel. People can also watch the livestream via the video embedded below.
What To Expect From The Pixel 8 Pro And Pixel 8
The prices of the Pixel 8 may start at $699 (around Rs 58,097) while the bigger Pixel 8 Pro may begin at $899 (approximately Rs 74,720). The Pixel 8 line will come with the new in-house Tensor G3 SoC.

The bigger and pricier Pixel 8 Pro may with better cameras, a thermometer sensor and a flat display. The device may feature a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED display with 1Hz-120Hz of refresh rate. Externally, the device may look similar to the Pixel 7 Pro but it may pack upgrades on the inside, including a newer camera sensor, which may result in brighter pictures, as well as a high-resolution ultra-wide sensor. It could come with a 50+48MP (ultra-wide)+48MP telephoto zoom up to 30x primary cameras ad a 10.5MP front camera. Other expected features include 12GB LPDDR5X RAM, 512GB UFS 3.1 storage and Android 14 out of the box. There could be a 5,050mAh battery with 30W fast charging and 23W wireless charging.
The smaller Pixel 8 is likely to come with similar set of features, barring the telephoto camera. In terms of specs and features, the Pixel 8 may get a 6.2-inch FHD+ OLED screen with 60Hz-120Hz of refresh rate, 50MP+12MP (ultra-wide sensor) and the same front facing camera as its bigger sibling. For battery and storage, the Pixel 8 may get 8GB LPDDR5X RAM, 128GB/256GB UFS 3.1 storage and 4,575mAh battery with 27W fast charging and 18W wireless charging.
