Google Pixel 7 Pro's Display To Be Brighter Than Pixel 6 Pro's, Suggest New Leak

The upcoming Google Pixel 7 Pro, which will likely debut in the fourth quarter of this year, will be different from its predecessor Pixel 6 Pro in terms of display brightness.

The upcoming Google Pixel 7 Pro, which will likely debut in the fourth quarter of this year, will be different from its predecessor Pixel 6 Pro in terms of display brightness. According to new leaked codes, the display panel on the Pixel 7 Pro will be brighter than the Pixel 6 Pro. As per the source code that is part of Android 13 betas suggests that the Google Pixel 7 Pro will let users set the display brightness to 600 nits in manual mode, which is 100 nits higher than what the previous-gen Pixel 6 Pro offered.

In Auto Mode, the display will top out at 1,000 nits, up from 800 nits. Note that these values are for 100 per cent APL, i.e. an all-white display. At lower APL (which is a much more common case), the brightness could probably hit 1,200 nits, says a report by GSMArena.

Earlier this month, leaked details of the Google Pixel 7 Pro suggested that it will be the most premium device from the tech giant. The new leaks suggest that the Google Pixel 7 Pro model will use a Samsung S6E3HC4 display with a 3120 x 1440 resolution while the Pixel 6 Pro featured a Samsung S6E3HC3 display. Google, at its annual Google I/O conference, had previewed its Pixel 7 phones, which will be powered by the next version of Google Tensor SoC, new technology and "fastest performance".

The leaked details of the mentioned device which has been made useless by remotely being bricked by Google reveal some information about the Pixel 7 Pro, thanks to the device logs. It has been rendered useless like most other Pixel 7 models that were recently sold online. According to the leaked device logs, the Pixel 7 Pro will sport a Tensor 2 SoC that would use the same 2+2+4 core design with two performance cores, two mid-cores and four low-power cores, says a report by Android Central.

What we know about the Pixel 7 series so far

Meanwhile, apart from revealing the upcoming Pixel 7 devices at I/O event, Google also teased the backs of the devices that retain the "visor" design from the Pixel 6 lineup. A change from the Pixel 6 line is the camera bar itself which is made out of polished aluminium that runs into the frame on both sides. According to the images teased by Google at the I/O conference, the Pixel 7 Pro may be launched in only Black, White, Grey and Seafoam colour options with no "Kinda Coral" variant in sight.

Another change in the camera design is that the camera cutouts into the aluminum are very obvious this time and look very bold and prominent. Line the previous Pixel 6 series, the Pixel 7 Pro features three rear sensors while the Pixel 7 has two cameras. The Pixel 7 Pro is likely sticking with the ultrawide/standard wide/telephoto configuration for the rear cameras, as suggested by leaks and renders.
