“This year’s event will be broadcast in front of a limited live audience, and is completely free and open to everyone virtually,” a Google spokesperson named Alex Garcia-Kummert was quoted as saying in a statement by The Verge. According to a Google I/O FAQ page, registration for the conference will be free and will start sometime in March. Everyone who wants to attend the event will be able to as there will be no tickets.
