Galaxy S23 Ultra May Launch With 200MP Primary Camera With Better Low Light Photography

Initial leaks and rumours suggest that Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra's 200MP camera may be better than the 200MP camera found in Xiaomi 12T Pro.

Samsung's flagship Galaxy S23 series is likely to launch in February 2023 and a key highlight of the lineup will be the Galaxy S23 Ultra which is likely to launch with a 200MP primary camera. Initial leaks and rumours suggest that Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra's 200MP camera may be better than the 200MP camera found in Xiaomi 12T Pro, for example. According to famed leakster Ice Universe, the 200MP camera in the Galaxy S23 may be the "best the world has ever seen".

"The 200MP of Samsung S23 Ultra is too strong. It has unparalleled analytical power. It is stronger than all the 200MP I have seen before😭," Universe tweeted from his handle @UniverseIce.

Galaxy S23 Ultra expected specs and features

According to the new leak, the Galaxy S23 Ultra's behemoth of a sensor may mean better high-resolution images as well as better improvements in some key areas and much improved low-light photography and videography. This would also result in the biggest camera improvement Samsung has brought to its flagship cameras in years.

In terms of design language, the leaks and rumours indicate that the Galaxy S23 Ultra's design will be inspired heavily by its predecessor, this year's Galaxy S22 Ultra. The battery capacity of the S23 Ultra is likely to stay the same too at 5,000mAh. The flagship is likely to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC which is due to get official next month.

The vanilla Galaxy S23, in terms of imaging, will feature a 50MP main camera with OIS coupled with a 12MP ultra-wide sensor and a 10MP telephoto sensor and a 10MP camera in the front for selfies.

According to a leakster, in terms of looks, the upcoming flagship Galaxy S23 line's "protective cases" reveal that the rear camera cut-outs of the vanilla S23 has made a departure from its S22 forebear. This leak again came from famed tipster Ice Universe and it suggests that in terms of the camera design, Samsung would stick with the "traffic-light" camera module for the Galaxy S23 series.

Meanwhile, another anticipated flagship to launch in 2023 is the OnePlus 11 series which may also feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip.
