Dyson OnTrac Headphones With Customisable Ear Cups & Cushions Launched: Check Price, Specifications

Dyson is a brand that many are familiar with. Many of us must have heard the name Dyson Airwrap somewhere. It is a brand that is renowned for its high-end appliances and audio products. Dyson has recently unveiled a new wireless headphone which will come in your hands with customisable earcups and cushions. Dyson OnTrac is just one product to showcase that the company is doing something different and well high-end. The concept of customisable earcups and cushions is not something that you get to hear every day. The headphones feature a custom Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) algorithm that comprises eight microphones and samples external sound 3,84,000 times in a second.

The ANC in this pair of headphones will effectively reduce the noise by up to 40dB.

Dyson OnTrac: Price, Availability 

The Dyson OnTrac is priced at $499.99 (approximately Rs 42,000) and can be purchased directly from Dyson's website in four different colours: Ceramic Cinnabar, CNC Aluminium, CNC Black/Nickel, and CNC Copper. While the headphones are currently not available for sale in India, Dyson has announced they will be available soon.

Dyson offers the outer cups for sale separately, which are available in ceramic and anodized aluminium finishes. Additionally, the ear cushions and outer cups are available in seven different colourways and finishes, priced at $49.99 (about Rs 4,000) each.

Dyson OnTrac: Specifications

The Dyson OnTrac headphones are equipped with 40mm neodymium drivers capable of delivering sound across frequencies from 6Hz to 21KHz. They feature active noise cancellation (ANC) supported by eight microphones to effectively reduce background noise by up to 40dB. Dyson offers a convenient tap feature on the earcups for toggling ANC mode.

Users can enhance their listening experience by pairing the headphones with the MyDyson app, which provides additional options for customizing sound. The app allows monitoring of both in-ear and external volume levels, providing alerts if they reach potentially harmful levels. It also offers three EQ modes: Bass Boost, Neutral, and Enhanced.

Dyson OnTrac headphones include head-detection technology using capacitive sensors to automatically pause audio playback when the earcups are removed. Powered by a lithium-ion battery housed within the right and left cushions of the headband, Dyson promises up to 55 hours of battery life with ANC activated.
