The company's "It's Glowtime" showcase, scheduled for September 9, could be the stage for this highly anticipated release. According to leaks and industry insiders, speculations about the Apple Watch Series 9 successor, is said to get several key upgrades. Among the most notable rumours is the possibility of larger display sizes compared to the current 41mm and 45mm options. As per leaks the new Watch models could feature 44mm and 48mm variants, offering users a more expansive screen experience.

Updated Heart Rate Sensor, Better Water Resistance Likely

Health and fitness capabilities are expected to see improvements as well. Rumours point to an updated heart rate sensor, which could provide more precise measurements and enable new functionalities. Additionally, there's speculation about enhanced algorithms that might allow for more sophisticated health data processing, possibly shifting some computational tasks to the iPhone's Health app.

Water resistance is another area where the Apple Watch Series 10 might see advancements. While the current Series 9 boasts a water resistance rating of 50 metres, it is not recommended for high-intensity water activities. Reports indicate the new model could be suitable for high-speed water sports at depths of up to 20 metres, bridging the gap between the standard series and the more robust Apple Watch Ultra.

The potential inclusion of the Depth app, currently exclusive to the Watch Ultra, is also being discussed. This feature could bring advanced water-related functionalities to a broader range of users. Alongside hardware improvements, software enhancements are also on the horizon. New watch faces are reportedly in development, including one called "Reflections" that may interact with ambient light, and a Hermès-branded face named "Regatta," inspired by sailing competitions.
