Apple To Launch New MacBook Pro, Upgraded 24-Inch iMac Later This Month: Report

Contributing to the speculation is Apple's upcoming earnings call scheduled for November 2.

Apple is rumoured to be on the cusp of unveiling an upgraded 24-inch iMac, marking its return to the desktop computing arena after a hiatus since the 2021 release of its previous iteration. These insights, as reported by Bloomberg based on source inputs, suggest that the tech giant could make this announcement by the close of October. In addition to this development, the report also hints at the possible revelation of two fresh MacBook Pro models, with a prospective event date set for either October 30 or 31 this year.

The basis for this report is derived from inside sources privy to Apple's forthcoming strategies, along with the noteworthy observation that several Mac products, such as the 24-inch iMac and all MacBook Pro models, are currently facing shipment delays stretching into mid-November. Bloomberg asserts that these delays serve as a telltale sign of an imminent product launch.

Contributing to the speculation is Apple's upcoming earnings call scheduled for November 2. Historically, the company has reserved November earnings calls for years when October witnessed product launches, fostering expectations of a fresh addition to Apple's product lineup, with the 24-inch iMac potentially leading the charge. It's worth noting that the current iMac model has remained untouched for over 900 days and remains the last Mac in Apple's portfolio still driven by the M1 chip.

Though the idea of new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models might raise eyebrows, considering their most recent update in January 2023, Mark Gurman, a noted Apple analyst, suggests that Apple might indeed be pursuing this course. While detailed specifications of the impending iMac upgrade remain elusive, earlier leaks have hinted at the possibility of an M3 chip, promising improved performance and efficiency. As we inch closer to the impending week, Apple enthusiasts are fervently awaiting official confirmation of these exciting developments.

If these speculations materialise, it's worth noting that the price tags on these Apple laptops and computers are expected to remain firmly in the premium category, in line with the company's reputation for high-end products. As a point of reference, the current 24-inch Apple iMac is currently listed in India with a starting price of Rs 1,29,900. Meanwhile, the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M2 Pro processor is currently retailing at Rs 2,49,900, with the 16-inch version featuring the M2 MAX chip carrying a price tag of Rs 3,09,900 on the Apple Store.

It's important to highlight that, while these premium products come with a substantial price tag, Apple is currently offering some discounts in honour of Diwali celebrations in India.
