Apple Implements New Covid-19 Prevention Rules Ahead of WWDC Event: Details

As WWDC 2022 inches closer, Apple has tightened the Covid-19 prevention rules for developers that need to be followed.

New Delhi: With Apple Worldwide Developers Conference, popularly known as WWDC slated to begin at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California on June 6, Apple has tightened the Covid-19 prevention rules for developers that need to be followed. The iPhone maker has sent emails to developers, informing them it is mandatory to wear N95 masks while indoors and that a negative FDA-approved Covid-19 antigen test is required the day before, the media has reported.

It should be noted that these are the updated guidelines that have been up in place in the wake of the increasing number of coronavirus cases in California and other states in the US. Apple's website said that developers would be required to test three days before the event and that masks would be optional, but that wording has since been removed, said a report by Macrumors.

The tech giant will hold WWDC as a virtual, online event, free for all developers starting June 6 to June 10 from their homes. According to the Apple website, WWDC attendees are required to adhere to its health and safety protocols, which take into account the latest guidance from public health authorities.

What to expect at WWDC 2022 event?

According to reports, Apple is most likely going to reveal updates to iOS 16. Apple is also most likely going to showcase new health app features and also introduce updates to iPhone notifications, as per Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Apple is also likely to announce updates to the operating systems powering the Apple Watch, Apple Macs as well as the Apple TV.
