These Apple Devices May Be Prone To Cyber-Attacks, Security Agency Warns

Below is the list of Apple devices which are prone to cyber-attacks. Check if your device falls into this category or not.

Indian government alerted Apple users this week about a new security issue. Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) in its bulletin of January 31 stated that there is a high risk to Apple Watch, Apple TV, Macs, iPhone and iPad users which allows the attackers to access their devices remotely. The security agencies warned that attackers can gather confidential data and steal information in exchange for ransom.

Let us have a look at the devices which will be affected by this.

Affected Devices

– Apple iOS versions prior to 16.7 and iPadOS versions prior to 15.8.1

– Apple iOS versions prior to 17.0.1 and iPadOS versions prior to 16.7.5

– Apple macOS Monterey versions prior to 12.7.3

– Apple tvOS versions prior to 17.3

– Apple macOS Ventura versions prior to 13.6.4

– Apple watchOS versions prior to 10.3

– Apple Safari versions prior to 17.3

How Are You Affected By This Security Risk?

As noted by the said security agency, these security vulnerabilities exist in the aforementioned Apple devices and it could allow an attacker to access sensitive information, execute arbitrary code, gradually bypass security restrictions and gain elevated privileges on the targeted device system.

If we look at the highlighted details then these risks affect a wide array of devices that go back to the iPhone 6 series, iPad Air 2 and even iPod Touch 7th gen model.
