Apple May Launch 5 New Mac Models In 2022. Everything You Should Know

Apple has bigger plans when it comes to Mac models for the next year as latest reports suggest it is likely to unveil at least five new Mac models in 2022.

New Delhi: Apple has bigger plans when it comes to Mac models for the next year as latest reports suggest it is likely to unveil at least five new Mac models in 2022. The rumoured Mac lineup for next year includes a cheaper MacBook Pro and a MacBook Air with an M2 chip, among others.

According to trusted Apple leakster Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, there is a likely emergence of a new entry-level MacBook Pro, a MacBook Air with a design overhaul and an M2 chip, an updated Mac Mini, a Mac Pro with Apple silicon, and a high-end iMac with Apple silicon. Gurman's newsletter "Power On" suggest that the Cupertino, California-based tech giant will unveil five new Macs next year.

Gurman mentions that the high-end iMac will sit above the 24-inch iMac machine launched with an M1 chip. According to a previous leak from tipster Dylan, the iMac may now be called the iMac Pro and its base model may arrive with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Other specs include an HDMI slot, SD Card slot, and a number of USB Type-C Thunderbolt ports, similar to what we have seen on the MacBook Pro.

According to reports, the iPhone maker is looking to cater to two diverging markets and that is why it is working towards creating a bigger difference between the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.

In another news, demand for the new iPhone 13 series is declining and Apple has informed its component makers of the development ahead of holidays, a report suggested last week. Owing to the fall in demand for the iPhone 13 lineup, Apple has decided it will further cut production estimates which was earlier reduced from 90 million to 80 million due to the ongoing global chipset crisis.
