Apple has introduced an upgraded version of its compact desktop computer, the Mac mini, following the launch of the 24-inch iMac M4. The refreshed Mac mini is available with two chipset choices: the M4 and the newly introduced M4 Pro. The M4 variant reportedly offers performance enhancements of up to 1.7 times faster than the previous Mac mini M1, while the M4 Pro model boasts 3D rendering speeds that are nearly 2.9 times quicker when using Blender software.
Apple Mac mini (M4): Price In India
In India, the Mac mini with the M4 chip starts at Rs 59,900. This base model features a 10-core CPU, a 10-core GPU, 16GB of unified memory, and 256GB of SSD storage. Users have the option to upgrade to 24GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
On the other hand, the M4 Pro variant is priced at Rs 1,49,900 and comes equipped with a 12-core CPU, 16-core GPU, 24GB of unified memory, and 512GB of SSD storage. Customers can customize this model with configurations that include up to a 14-core CPU, a 20-core GPU, 64GB of unified memory, and 8TB of SSD storage.
Both versions also offer an upgrade option for 10-bit Gigabit Ethernet for an additional Rs 10,000. Pre-orders for the new Mac mini are available starting today at Apple Stores and authorized retailers, with deliveries expected to commence on November 8.

The Mac mini with the M4 chip features significant improvements, including a 10-core CPU and a 10-core GPU, promising performance boosts of up to 1.8 times for CPU and 2.2 times for GPU compared to the M1 model. The compact design measures just 5x5 inches, making it smaller than its predecessor. It also includes advanced AI capabilities for speech-to-text transcription, reportedly operating up to twice as fast with MacWhisper.
The M4 Pro model is designed for more demanding tasks, featuring an all-new chipset with options for up to a 14-core CPU and a 20-core GPU, making it capable of rendering motion graphics in RAM twice as fast as the M2 Pro Mac mini.
In terms of connectivity, both models support Apple Intelligence features. They include two USB Type-C ports with USB 3 speeds and a headphone jack on the front, while the back of the M4 version has three Thunderbolt 4 ports, and the M4 Pro offers three Thunderbolt 5 ports, along with Gigabit Ethernet and an HDMI port.
