Confirming earlier rumors, the Cupertino-based tech giant has also announced the latest iteration of the 24-inch iMac. The updated model comes with the same design as its predecessor, with an unchanged 24-inch display boasting a 4.5K resolution. At 11.5mm thickness, it retains the sleek profile, featuring white bezels, the same 1080p camera, speakers, mics and USB port configurations.

However, the new iMac now features the M3 chip, which promises enhanced speed and increased power efficiency. The 24-inch M3 iMac is available at a price of Rs 134,900 for the eight-core GPU model and Rs 154,900 for the 10-core GPU version. Pre-orders are open today (October 31), with shipping scheduled to commence on November 7.

Meanwhile, these new processors introduce a new GPU microarchitecture, allocation system and dynamic memory caching, with real-time hardware allocation of local memory, thus, optimizing GPU usage. They also bring enhanced rendering capabilities like mesh shading and ray tracing, delivering a significant boost in performance, which is 1.8 times faster rendering than the M2 and 2.5 times faster than the M1. The M3 chips claim a 15 per cent increase in performance cores over the M2 and a 30 per cent boost in efficiency cores.
