New Delhi: Apple iPhone SE 3, the next iteration in the 'affordable' iPhone SE lineup may sport a design similar to the iPhone SE (2020), a new report suggests. There have been several leaks and rumours about a purported iPhone SE from Apple and now, the report suggests that the purported iPhone SE 3 could retain the thick bezels that we have seen in the iPhone SE (2020).

According to a report by research firm TrendForce, the iPhone SE 3 could launch in the first quarter of 2022.

The first iteration in the ‘affordable’ iPhone SE line was unveiled back in 2016. The iPhone SE (2020) edition was launched last year, but there has been no iPhone SE this year.

The report added that the Cupertino, California-based tech giant is expected to witness strong demand during the holiday quarter. The report also adds that the iPhone maker is 'staying with the plan' to announce the iPhone SE 3 in early 2022.

The iPhone SE 3 is likely to be announced by Apple in the first quarter of 2022 and that indicates that Apple might hold another special event around March. TrendForce does not reveal further details about the upcoming iPhone SE, but it does mention that the device may support 5G connectivity.

Meanwhile, earlier in November, reports suggested that Apple is likely to sell more than 80 million iPhones in the holiday quarter from October through December. According to investment bank Wedbush's estimates, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Max have a longer wait time on offline and online channels in the wake of the global chip and logistics crisis.
