Apple iPhone 17 Pro Lineup To Retain Camera Design Of iPhone 16 Pro Models

As per a recent leak, the iPhone 17 Pro models will retain the same camera layout as the iPhone 16 Pro series.

Apple's iPhone 17 series is anticipated to debut in September next year, with rumours suggesting various design updates for the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the speculated iPhone 17 Slim. While a recent leak hinted at a Google Pixel-inspired redesign for the upcoming models, a new claim from a Chinese tipster suggests otherwise for the Pro variants.

According to Moments Digital (translated from Chinese) on Weibo, the iPhone 17 Pro models will retain the same camera layout as the iPhone 16 Pro series. However, the tipster also mentioned that while the rear design of the iPhone 17 Pro lineup will see significant changes, these adjustments will not impact the camera island.

iPhone 17 Leaks: Camera Design Changes

Earlier leaks suggested that the iPhone 17 series may introduce a Google Pixel-inspired horizontal camera bar on the back, marking a significant shift from the current vertical camera design of the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Additionally, another leak revealed a frame design for the iPhone 17 series featuring a pill-shaped cutout reminiscent of the Pixel 9 to house the camera module.

One design rumour indicates that the iPhone 17 Pro models might replace their titanium frames with aluminium. These models could feature larger camera bumps, and Apple may combine the volume and Action buttons into a single key in future iterations. There’s also speculation about a new button being added to the Pro lineup. The iPhone 17 Pro models are rumoured to be equipped with Apple’s A19 Pro chip and 12GB of RAM, while the standard iPhone 17 and the rumoured iPhone 17 Air might run on an A18 or A19 chip paired with 8GB of RAM.

All four iPhone 17 models are expected to feature 24-megapixel front cameras, while the iPhone 17 Air is rumoured to include a single 48-megapixel rear camera. The series could also feature LTPO displays sourced from Samsung and LG.
