iPhone 16 Rumour Roundup: Expected Specifications, Design

A report from Apple Insider suggests that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will feature a camera setup similar to last year's models. The devices are rumoured to include a 48-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.6 aperture and 2x optical telephoto zoom. Additionally, the ultra-wide-angle lens is expected to receive a minor upgrade, with an improved f/2.2 aperture, compared to the f/2.4 aperture on the iPhone 15.

This enhancement could result in better low-light photography by allowing more light to reach the sensor.

Another significant addition to the iPhone 16 series could be the introduction of macro photography capabilities, a first for Apple's standard iPhone models. There are also reports that Apple may change the design of the camera layout, possibly adopting a vertical pill-shaped camera cutout reminiscent of the iPhone X, rather than the diagonal arrangement seen on the iPhone 15. This design shift could enable the new iPhones to support spatial video capture.

The forthcoming iPhone 16 series is set to include four models: the standard iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, and the higher-end iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

The event will be available to watch live on Apple’s website, the Apple TV app, and the company’s YouTube channel.
