Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 14 Pro May Ditch The Notch For This Reason
The iPhone 14 series will opt for a hole-punch display for the first time, for some models.
New Delhi: It's barely months since Apple introduced its iPhone 12 lineup and now we have reports suggesting that the iPhone 14 series will opt for a hole-punch display for the first time, for some models. The purported iPhone 14 Pro Max and iPhone 14 Pro are likely to ditch the notch that we have seen on all models of the iPhone 13 in favour of hole-punch screen design, a new report by Korean website The Elect says.
While the bigger and more premium 6.06-inch iPhone Pro and 6.7-inch iPhone Pro Max models will arrive with hole-displays, the two other smaller models, the regular 6.06-inch iPhone and 6.7-inch iPhone Max models may still feature a notch as we have seen in all the versions on the iPhone 13 line, The Elect report added.
Also, similar to this year's iPhone 13 lineup, Apple will integrate low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) thin-film transistors (TFT) for the OLED panels on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models. The LTPO OLED panels will be supplied by Samsung Display with a 120Hz variable refresh rate, the report noted.
Meanwhile, hit by a component supply shortage, production of the iPhone 13 lineup fell 20 per cent ahead of the holiday quarter, thus, dampening Apple's bumper Christmas sale aspirations. For the first time in the past 10 years, the assembling of iPhones and iPads was stopped for a short time due to the global supply chain crisis, a report said earlier this week.
