Apple is expected to launch the upcoming iPhone 16 series at this event. Along with iPhone 16, the tech giant is also expected to launch the newest addition to its smartwatch lineup, i.e., Apple Watch Series 10 or Apple Watch Series X. Plenty of rumours have already surfaced about the upcoming Apple Watch Series 10 including the likelihood of introducing a new health feature.
According to the rumours that are doing rounds in the market, significant changes might be made in the Apple Watch Series 10 as compared to its predecessor for the 10th anniversary model, including a larger display, thinner design, and potential new health features. Let us do a rumour roundup of the price and specifications of the Apple Watch Series 10.
Apple 'Glowtime' Event: Apple Watch Series 10 Price (Expected)
Although the official price hasn't been confirmed yet, it's anticipated that the Series 10 will start at approximately $399 for the base model, consistent with previous versions.
Pre-orders are likely to open soon after the September 9 event, with deliveries expected to begin later in the month.
Apple 'Glowtime' Event: Apple Watch Series 10 Design (Expected)
The most notable change expected for the Series 10 is an increase in screen size. Reports indicate Apple may offer 45mm and 49mm options, with the largest model featuring a 2-inch display. This would put its size on par with the robust Apple Watch Ultra. In addition to the larger display, the watch is rumored to have a slimmer profile with a narrower bezel.
Some reports indicate that it could feature a flat-edge design, similar to the Ultra series, departing from the rounded edges seen in earlier models.
There are rumors of a significant overhaul to the watch band connection system, which might make current bands unusable with the Series 10. While this could frustrate long-time users who have built up a collection of bands, it may also open the door to fresh design opportunities.
Apple 'Glowtime' Event: Apple Watch Series 10 New Health & Fitness (Expected)
Though the inclusion of blood oxygen monitoring is still unclear due to ongoing legal issues, Apple had been working on integrating sleep apnea detection into the Series 10.
However, recent reports indicate that this feature might be postponed due to concerns about its accuracy in testing.
Apple 'Glowtime' Event: Apple Watch Series 10 Battery & New Chip (Expected)
The Series 10 could potentially tackle battery life issues at last. Reports suggest advancements in display technology might lead to a noticeable reduction in power usage, possibly extending the watch's runtime beyond the current 18-hour limit.
The watch is anticipated to come with an S10 chip, likely a refined version of the S9 used in the Series 9. It will operate on watchOS 11, which is currently available in public beta.
