New Apple iPad Air Launched With 5G Support And M1 Processor
The iPhone maker also announced an overdue upgrade to the iPad Air at its online Peek Performance event.
New Delhi: Apart from the new green colour options for the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro, the iPhone maker also announced an overdue upgrade to the iPad Air at its online Peek Performance event late on Tuesday. The new iPad Air now comes with the M1 chip and 5G support.
The new iPad Air model comes a year and a half after the previous-gen model and features a USB-C port that is up to twice as fast with 10Gbps of data transfer speeds.
The India price of the iPad Air has been set at Rs 54,900 for the base variant with 64GB of internal memory with only WiFi support. There is also a 256GB storage variant.
The iPad Air 5G variant, meanwhile, is priced at Rs 68,900. The new iPad Air will be available at a starting price of $599 for the Wi-Fi only model, and will go up to $749 for the Wi-Fi and Cellular version. The device will come with 64GB or 256GB of onboard storage and be available in grey, pink, purple, blue, and a silver/gold cross which Apple is calling “starlight” colour. Pre-orders of the midrange iPad Air begins this Friday and the tablet will go on sale starting March 18.
The front-facing camera of the iPad Air has been upgraded to a 12MP camera with a wide-angle lens that enables use a feature called Center Stage that can follow subjects as they move around in the frame while videoconferencing.
