Delhi Police Uses AI To 'Resurrect' Dead Man, Solves Geeta Colony Murder. Here's What Happened

Approximately 500 posters, featuring a digitally resurrected face of the victim, were strategically placed across various locations in the national capital, which eventually lead to apprehension of suspects.

In a recent development in a homicide case in Delhi, law enforcement authorities successfully employed artificial intelligence (AI) technology to unravel the mystery surrounding a murder. The incident, which occurred under the Geeta Colony flyover in east Delhi on January 10, involved the discovery of a young man's lifeless body. A subsequent post-mortem examination determined that the cause of death was strangulation. However, the absence of any identifiable information near the body posed a significant challenge for the investigating officers.

As reported by NDTV, to overcome this hurdle, the Delhi Police turned to advanced technological solutions to crack the case wide open. The initial complexity lay in the condition of the victim's face, making conventional identification methods impractical. Leveraging AI capabilities, the police digitally reconstructed the victim's face, essentially bringing him back to life in a digital format.

A breakthrough occurred when a poster, prominently displayed outside a police station, prompted an individual to contact the authorities, identifying the man in the poster as his elder brother, Hitendra. Further investigation revealed that Hitendra had been involved in a dispute with three individuals, resulting in a fatal altercation. The trio had strangled Hitendra to death and sought assistance from a woman to conceal the evidence.
