OpenAI, the creator of viral artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot ChatGPT is set to host its first developer conference in November. OpenAI will host its first developer conference in San Francisco on November 6. Developer registration for in-person attendance will start in the coming weeks and developers will be able to live-stream the keynote, the company has announced.

The one-day event is likely to bring hundreds of developers worldwide together with the team at OpenAI to preview new tools and exchange ideas. In-person attendees will also be able to join breakout sessions led by members of OpenAI’s technical staff.

"Since launching our API in 2020, we’ve continuously updated it to include our most advanced models, making it easier than ever for developers to integrate cutting-edge AI into their projects with a simple API call. Today, over 2 million developers are using GPT-4, GPT-3.5, DALL·E and Whisper for a wide range of use cases—from integrating smart assistants into existing applications to building entirely new applications and services that weren't possible before," the company announced in a blog post.

Those who want to get more details about the upcoming conference can head to devday.openai.com and sign up to receive a notification when registration opens in the coming weeks.

“We’re looking forward to showing our latest work to enable developers to build new things,” said Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI.

This comes days after a report said that OpenAI is likely to generate over $1 billion in revenue in the next 12 months. As per a report by The Information, the Microsoft-backed company is on track to create this revenue via selling AI software and computing capacity that powers it. Besides the viral chatbot ChatGPT, the company makes money by selling API access to its AI models for developers and enterprises directly and through a partnership with Microsoft, which invested over $10 billion into the company in January.
