ChatGPT for Android phones would become available for Android, months after the app was released for iOS in May. OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT is letting people pre-order the app so that it gets automatically downloaded from the official Google Play Store when it is launched.

The company made the announcement of the app's launch for Android on Twitter and posted: "Announcing ChatGPT for Android! The app will be rolling out to users next week, and you can pre-order in the Google Play Store starting today."

How To Download ChatGPT For Android From Google Play Store

Those looking to download ChatGPT app for Android in the Google Play Store need to look up ChatGPT on the search bar and then click on the install button. A message would appear saying that the app would automatically get installed when "it is ready." Users need to click on OK to complete the process.

According to ChatGPT's description on the Google Play store: "This official app is free, syncs your history across devices, and brings you the newest model improvements from OpenAI."

OpenAI's chatbot ChatGPT app for iPhone users was launched in 32 countries, including India, earlier in May. The company, headquartered in San Francisco, officially launched the ChatGPT app for iOS first in the US and announced plans to expand its availability to other countries in the near future. The company had said it would launch an Android version of the app “soon” and it is getting launched now.

Within the first few days of its launch in the United States on May 18, the ChatGPT mobile app crossed the half a million downloads mark, making it one of the highest-performing new apps, outpacing other AI chatbot apps from the likes of Microsoft Edge and Bing apps, when it comes to downloads, as per the data shared by app intelligence company data.ai.
