Tamil Nadu: Bride's Brother Arranges Feast For Newly-Wed Intercaste Couple, Murders Both For Marrying Against His Wishes
Thanjavur Intercaste Couple Murder: The deceased Saranya belonged to a Dalit community while Mohan belonged to BC community.
Chennai: An inter-caste couple, who got married five days back, was hacked to death on Monday by the bride's brother for marrying against their wishes near Kumbakonam in Thanjavur.
Saranya was a Dalit while Mohan belonged to BC community.
According to a report on The New Indian Express, Saranya (24) was working as a nurse in Chennai and she met 31-year-old Mohan of Tiruvannamalai in the city. The couple started to interact with each other and soon fell in love five months ago. Later, the couple approached their families to get married.
However, Saranya's brother S Sakthivel was against the marriage since he wanted his sister to marry his brother-in-law Ranjith. He also mentioned the same to Saranya.

However, Saranya and Mohan got married five days back in Chennai and they revealed about their wedding to their family members over the phone.
Sakthivel soon invited the couple for having a 'feast' at his home. On Monday, the couple went to his home to have lunch and after having food they were getting ready to return to Chennai. However, Sakthivel and Ranjith intercepted the couple and hacked them to death.

In the impact, the couple died on the spot. The duo too immediately fled the spot. However, the police established a search and nabbed the accused at Kumbakonam bus stand. The police have also registered a case and further investigation is on.
