Chennai: Arul Selvam, the Chief Educational Officer of Tiruvannamalai district, was suspended by School Education Department amid a leak of revision exam question papers reported from parts of the state. Till now, the revision exam question papers for Science and Maths were released prior to the exam and went viral on social media. 


Later, the question paper of the Business Maths exam was also circulated.


The revision exams for Class 10 and 12 students started on February 9. The Class 12 students were scheduled to attend Maths exam while Class 10 students were set to write Science exam. However, the question papers for both the exams were leaked in Tiruvannamalai on Monday, said reports. 


In this backdrop, Tiruvannamalai CEO Arul Selvam was suspended and he was replaced by Villupuram CEO Krishnapriya, who will hold an additional charge. 


According to a report on The Hindu, the revision exam question papers are to be given on the day of the examination but the CEO reportedly gave the papers a week before the exams to two private schools in Tiruvannamalai.

The students of the school allegedly shared it with their friends and then the paper went viral on social media. 


Following this, Joint Director Ponkumar of the School Education Department conducted inspections in the schools at Vandasvasi and Polur taluks in Tiruvannamalai and conducted an enquiry on the leak. 


It was found that the question papers were with Auxilium Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Polur taluk and Hashiny International School in Vandasvasi taluk.
