Chennai: In a telephonic conversation — that went viral on media — with one of the party cadres, expelled AIADMK  leader and former CM Jayalalithaa’s close aid, VK Sasikala is heard to take a U-turn and rejoin politics.

Just ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly Election, Sasikala was released from jail and had said she won’t be taking part in the elections. Sasikala took the decision of rejoining politics while there is a rift between Edappadi Palaniswami and O. Pannerselvam, as suggested by the reports. Earlier this month, when EPS was announced opposition leader, OPS rejected the deputy role while he suggested former speaker P Dhanapal’s name for the leader of the opposition. But, OPS couldn’t garner any support in the party meet and later EPS was chosen as the leader.

We will resolve all the problems in the party. I will come. I will definitely come. You take care and be safe,” Sasikala is heard telling a party cadre.

“We will be behind you Amma,” the party cadre is heard replying to Sasikala. According to the reports, the phone call has been verified by the personal assistant for AMMK General Secretary TVV Dinakaran, who is Sasikala’s nephew.

Sasikala has been talking to the party cadres in the past few weeks to know the issues of the party. According to the report in The Week, her return to politics is imminent said the sources to the family. In 2017, before leaving to prison, Sasikala has taken vow at Jayalalithaa’s memorial to revive the party.
