Chennai: A 19-year-old young man died after suffering injuries during a clash between two Muslim groups near Hosur on Tuesday. The incident took place during an event organised to celebrate the birth anniversary of Islamic Front founder Palani Baba in Mathigiri near Hosur.

According to Times of India, the deceased has been identified as B Sartaj. On Monday, around 250 members took part to celebrate the birth anniversary of Palani Baba. After the event, while dinner was being served at the event organised by Tamilaga Makkal Jananayaka Katchi (TMJK) and Palani Baba Peravai (PBP), A Sinu of PBP started an argument with TMJK party persons.

The argument led to a clash between Sinu and the district secretary of TMJK Manzoor Ali Khan and Mahboob Basha of VOC Nagar. Following this, Sinu was made to walk out of the hall.

However, Sinu once again brought his friends H Pavan Prakash (19) and B Sartaj (19) to the hall. Pavan and Sartaj attacked the duo Manzoor and Mahboob with logs and machetes. This led to a fight between the two groups.
