Tamil Nadu: Man ‘Buried’ After Last Rites, Returns Home Alive In Erode
The Sathyamanagalam police have decided to exhume the body.
Chennai: A 55-year-old man, who was buried by his family members after the last rites, came home alive in Erode district on Monday. After the family received information that the elderly man was reportedly found dead at a bus stop on Sunday, the family members confirmed his identity, performed the last rites and buried him on the same day. However, the man returned home alive on Monday.
According to Sathyamangalam police officer, Moorthy was a daily wage worker and he left for Tiruppur to harvest sugarcane. On Sunday, however, the son of Moorthy, Karthi, received a phone call that his father was found dead at Sathyamangalam bus stand.
Karthi immediately went to the spot and confirmed that it was his father.
The Sathyamanagalam police also registered a case and handed over the body to Karthi on Sunday after legal procedures.

Later, Moorthy's family performed the last rites and buried the body.
However, on Monday, Moorthy came home alive to the shock of the family members.
Karthi said, we couldn't believe it when he came home. The deceased person looked just like my father, he added.

Meanwhile, Moorthy unaware of the events returned home on Monday after his work was over in Tirupur.
The Sathyamanagalam police have ordered a probe to find the identity of the person and to inquire about his family members. They have also planned to exhume the body and conduct a post-mortem to find the identity of the person.
