“Tamil Nadu government will never allow this,” Tamil Nadu CM Stalin told about the auction of Mining blocks in the Cauvery delta on Wednesday.
Replying to special call attention motions moved by MLAs, CM MK Stalin at the TN Assembly session said, “I was equally shocked to hear about this. I contacted the concerned authorities and also wrote to PM. DMK MP TR Baalu spoke on phone with concerned Union Minister who has assured to look into the issue. I’m not just a CM, I’m also a man from Delta. Tamil Nadu govt will never allow this.”

Stalin also said Union Coal Minister Prahlad Joshi assured the Parliamentarian that Tamil Nadu CM's opposition would be given due weightage and taken into account.
Earlier, TN CM Stalin wrote to PM Modi asking him to exclude the state's Cauvery Delta region from the coal bidding process to protect the interest of the farmers.
Stressing that Delta areas should be excluded from the coal bidding process, the Chief Minister in a letter to the Prime Minister said, "No approval was obtained from the state government before issuing the notification in this regard and the state government was not even consulted. Unfortunately, the Union Coal Ministry is acting arbitrarily."
"The three mining areas in Tamil Nadu, Sethialathoppu in Cuddalore, Michealpatti in Ariyalur, and Vadaseri in Thanjavur - should be excluded from the auction process due to the presence of valuable farmer's land and food security of the people," CM said.
